We celebrated national poetry today by reading examples of a Kenning, Acrostic and Haiku about Roman soldiers. We even did our own actions for the Kenning and took part in the live lesson on the BBC. It was great fun and we learned lots about writing poems. Some of us wrote our own funny alliterative lines.

It turns out Roman roads can be built in a day, if you make them to eat. We had the best time making our own roads using biscuits, butter, fresh cream, chocolate pudding mix and chocolate chips. It was really tasty! Now Mrs Smith and Mrs Pearn can’t wait to read our instructions showing others how to make their own edible Roman Roads.

Class 4 had fun with lolly sticks and pencils this morning, using them to help write roman numerals as part of our Maths lesson.

The climbing wall was a huge success today. Everyone had a go and some of us managed to reach the top, including Mrs Smith.

Class 4 had fun learning how to make a battery using fruit at St Bede’s this afternoon.

First, we had to find out which metals and fruit created the highest voltage.

We’ve had a fab time this week, making fruit softies in our art lesson. Mrs Smith is so impressed with our sewing skills. We can’t wait to bring them home.

Class 4 had a fabulous time learning about Parliament today. We had a visit from our local MP, Graeme Norris, and created our own political parties, with a manifesto. Afterwards, we tried to persuade others to choose us and held a vote.
