Mrs Smith and Mrs Weatherill have been amazed by the different ways in which Class 4 have chosen to present their projects. There were some fascinating people.
Niall’s Mile
Samson and staff from the Foundation of Light came into school to complete Niall’s mile, penalty shoot-out challenges and fun activities. We think Samson shouldn’t play in goal next season as he let in a lot of penalties.
Year 3 Disability Awareness
Today, Robyn came into school to work with year 3 on disability awareness. The children had a challenging but fun time playing deaf and blind football. It gave them the opportunity to empathise with others.
Year 4 Orienteering
Year 4 had the opportunity to take part in orienteering last week, as part of our sports celebrations.
Fun Run!
Class 4 liturgy
Here are the details for class 4’s liturgy next week. We look forward to seeing families there.
Health Bus
Today, we had a visit from the health bus. We learned about keeping our teeth healthy, the dangers of taking medicines not prescribed for us and dangers of smoking. Some of the children were able to wear the ‘drunk glasses’ which simulated being drunk. Our favourite part, though, was the singing dentist video.
Practical Maths
Class 4 have been doing practical maths as part of their learning about measures.
Class 4 Project
Our project this term is based upon our new topic – Brill Brits. We would like you to create a fact file of a famous Brit, past or present. You could choose from one of the following;
Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, Thomas Hardy, Robert Burns, Emily Bronte, J.K Rowling, Paul McCartney,
Or you could choose one of your own (possibly one we have never heard off). We have attached a couple of examples for you to help. This should be completed and returned to school by Friday 19th May.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Smith & Mrs Weatherill
Funny bones
Today, we had fun playing a game to label the bones of the body as part of our Science work.
