In our science lessons, we have been learning about forces and magnets. As part of our topic, we applied our knowledge of forces and magnets and created our own games. Some of us created a fishing game whilst others created a racing track game. We had lots of fun making them and playing our games!
The Liturgical Year
We have been learning about the year of the church during our RE lessons. We have created booklets for our families to read and share with us!
How to Make a Mummy!
We had lots of fun learning about mummification!
Party Day!
Year 3 have had a fantastic day playing party games, completing Christmas quizzes, dancing and eating our party food with our friends. We even had a very special visit from Santa Clause!
Advent
Class 3 have been learning about Advent in RE this half term. We have been learning about the Jesse Tree and discovered it is a traditional way to remind us that we are drawing near to Christmas. We each designed a bauble to represent a story from the Bible building up to Jesus’ birth.
Class 3 had a fantastic day learning about the Stone Age with our special visitors Sarah and Lynsey! We started the day by investigating artifacts from the Stone Age and thought about what they could be used for. We then worked together to create porridge using berries, honey and oats. All of the children were brave enough to have a taste! Some of us loved the porridge whilst some of us decided we didn’t like it!
The rest of the day was spent outside building mini Mesolithic shelters! Class 3 worked really well together as a team! Some of them were builders and others were gatherers! Sarah and Lynsey decided Class 3 had showed them that they were fantastic listeners so they were able to create their own fires! Sarah then cooked a trout on the fire – we even got to try some!
What an amazing day!

Excellent English Skills
During our English lessons, we have been looking at coordinating and subordinating conjunctions. Now that we are in Key Stage 2, we need to start using the correct terms – which we find very tricky!
Miss Brack has been blown away by our hard work and determination! We were able to use the acronyms ‘FANBOYS’ and ‘I SAW A WABUB!’ to help us decide whether the conjunctions were coordinating or subordinating.
Gymnastics
In PE, Class 3 have been working on our balancing and worked together to create a short routine, including a balance and a type of movement.
Becoming Archaeologists!
Class 3 have been learning about rocks and fossils in our science lessons. We talked about what an archaeologist does and what information they can find out about the past. We became archaeologists and had lots of fun! Some of us began to dig and look for fossils whilst others carried out some research to learn about what they can tell us about what happened many years ago.
