We had a great time using what we already know about magnets to create Christmas games!
We remember them… 100 year anniversary of WW1
Today, our Year 5 children were asked to represent KS1 and KS2 and took a wreath, which was made by children in school, down to the cenotaph. Year 5 children also had a chance to see the wonderful WW1 display window in Shotton and Mr Cochrane kindly spoke to the children about the importance of remembering our soldiers in this anniversary year. The whole school held a one minute silence at 11 o’clock and all children completed work based around Remembrance Day.

Mental Health Awareness Day
October the 10th was Mental Health awareness day and all of the children in school focussed on learning about keeping our minds, as well as our body, healthy. Each class produced some wonderful work. Please see our class blogs. Below are some links to important websites which will give you more information about Mental Health Awareness.

Judo fun
Class 4 had a lovely morning, taking part in a judo session with John and Adam from Destination Judo.
Climbing in Year 6
Year 6 children had a brilliant time on our climbing wall during Sports Week. They aimed high and all had a go at facing their fears. Well done!
Class 1 are enjoying all of our sporting activities this week. We loved the climbing wall yesterday and some of us even got to the top!
Parliament Day
We have had an exciting afternoon in Class 5 today. We had visitors who were talking to us about parliament. One of our visitors was our local MP Grahame Morris. We took part in an exciting workshop, in which we formed political parties. We created names and manifestos for our parties. The parties from Class 5 then had to give speeches about why they should be elected and we all took part in a vote. We had a lot of fun and learnt a lot about the important political processes in our country.
Super Scarecrow
We really enjoyed taking part in the Shotton Scarecrow Festival. Look at the fantastic scarecrow which some of our Year 5/6 children built with Mr Baldaseras. A group of our younger children then helped Miss Drake to add the finishing touches. Well done to everyone involved.

Playhub
Today, we opened our new playhub. It was a huge success. Look how much fun we had using recycled materials for play. It was a glorious day for creating.
