We had the good fortune to have a selection of artefacts from the DLI to look at and discuss today. The artefacts all belonged to real soldiers, who died in combat, during several wars. It was fascinating to think of them being soldiers but sombre to think these men lost their lives during wars. We will remember them!
Tinkering with Shapes
Class 6 loved experimenting with TinkerCad today. After we learned a little about 3D modelling, we added our own shapes, moved them around and changed the angle of view.
3D modelling is used extensively in movies, animations, video games, interior design, and architecture to produce characters, objects, and structures, along with being the basis for producing models for 3D printing.
Fireworks Safety
Classes 5 and 6 had a visit from the Fire Brigade to discuss the dangers of fireworks and bonfires. We know how to keep ourselves safe every bonfire night.
Creating structures
In outdoor learning today, our task was to create a one man bivouac. This was trickier than the lean-to shelter we built previously.
Working Together
Lean To Shelters
Our first outdoor learning lesson of the year involved successfully working together to design and build waterproof lean to shelters.
Year 6 Leavers’ Assembly
Holy Week

Happy Easter
Happy Easter to all of our Class 6 families. Head to our Teams page to see an Easter message put together by Class 6. Enjoy the holidays!
Un buen día
It’s lovely to see the children all settled in and working hard. We’ve had some nice practical work over the last couple of weeks in science, the children worked well making their circuits and testing the conductivity of materials this week. Last week we looked at which materials were best for insulating.
Today we celebrated the European day of languages by learning some Spanish. The children all created their own mini conversations with a partner as well as learned some interesting facts about Spanish culture.
