Lent and temptation!

14 March 2016 By spidrwebadmin

Today, in RE, we created role plays all about Jesus and the desert. Jesus was tempted and over-came temptation. We thought about how we can do the same.

We have had a fantastic morning celebrating our good behaviour!

We had so many fun activities to choose from: yoga, arts and crafts, sport, computing and music.

It really is “good to be green!”

NSPCC safety session.

10 February 2016 By spidrwebadmin

Today the NSPCC came into school to talk to us about how to look after ourselves and to keep ourselves safe. We had some fantastic group discussions about what is and is not appropriate and how we all have the right to say no !

Chinese New Year!

8 February 2016 By spidrwebadmin

imageWhilst completing lots of our SATs work, Class 6 have also really enjoyed a nice day celebrating Chinese New Year.  Children all took part in making their own masks, based on a famous Chinese story. Following this, all children then wrote an information text all about Chinese New Year.

We all enjoyed learning about and celebrating different cultures.

Youth Village!

27 January 2016 By spidrwebadmin

The children have had an amazing time at the Youth Village retreat. It was a pleasure to spend time with them and to see them working with other schools and making new friends. They enjoyed all of the activities and spending time in their rooms. We even had a pyjama party and watched a film. Although we are all a bit tired now, it was a fantastic time away; memories were created for a long time to come!

Spending time with Bishop Seamus.

27 January 2016 By spidrwebadmin

Class 6 put together a wonderful Mass for our special visitor. Thank- you very much for supporting your children during this special day and joining with us in church.

The children had the chance to ask the Bishop some fantastic questions after Mass.

image

Some of our questions were:

What is your mission?

What is your favourite scripture?

What do you hope for our Parish?

What would you tell someone to keep strong in their faith?

We really enjoyed celebrating our faith!

Wonderful writing all over our classroom !

19 January 2016 By spidrwebadmin

We love to write anywhere and everywhere. Today we starting writing our own book chapter for the Lambton Worm story. We started by sharing ideas together and then we found a comfy place to write.

It was lovely to see how on task the children were and that they were chatting about their writing, even when sitting on the floor,in our reading area and on tables. Writing is creative and should be done anywhere !

I have seen amazing writing from all children ! Well done Year 6.
