Balancing on Benches!
Our PE session this week focused on teamwork and creating balances on benches. We worked really well together. Francesca, from the Sports Partnership, said she was really pleased with how well our class worked as a group. I was so impressed with the difficult balances created. All children explored different ways to balance.
Volcano Artwork
We have been creating volcano artwork based around our own learning powers and how our learning will erupt and grow if we use them. We used marbling ink to create different paper. We used this to collage and create a volcano effect.Excellent work Class 6.
Important Information -SATS
Dear Parents,
This is just a small note to inform you of SATS information over the next few weeks. A letter will be going home, for all parents, regarding KS2 SATS, however I wanted to add a further few pieces of information to our blog.
Booster Sessions: These will now only occur on a Tuesday night. There will no longer be a Wednesday booster session. There are only three more sessions until the SATS and I would kindly request that all children be present for these final three sessions ( unless there are any unavoidable circumstances or previous appointments scheduled for this time).
Children who are taking part in an after school club on a Tuesday, will attend booster until the end of SATS and join their after school club afterwards.
SATS dates :
- Monday 9 May 2016 Key stage 2: English reading test
- Tuesday 10 May 2016 Key stage 2: English grammar, punctuation and spelling test, Paper 1, short answer questions and Paper 2, spelling.
- Wednesday 11 May 2016 Key stage 2: Mathematics, Paper 1 arithmetic test and Paper 2 reasoning.
- Thursday 12 May 2016 Key stage 2: Mathematics, Paper 3, reasoning.
Writing is assessed by teacher assessment and therefore your child will continue to work hard on their writing after the SATS. Writing assessment marks will not be collected until June, giving children slightly longer to develop their writing skills.
Your children continue to build their resilience and determination in relation to learning and are focusing hard on preparing for the tests. I am extremely proud of their dedication and committment, as well as their focus and drive to ‘Let their Light Shine’.If you have any further questions please feel free to see me at any time.
Thank- you for your support

PE – Gymnastics
Year 6 had a fantastic time developing our gymnastics skills. We were fantastic at working as a team.
Real life maths – baking some Easter treats.
What a wonderful morning for our children; they have been using their maths skills to weigh and measure and to make some Hot Cross Cookies and Easter Nests.
Stations of the Cross
We gathered to remember the importance of Holy Week and Jesus’ sacrifice for us.
The Last Supper Liturgy
Class 6 and Class 4 made a wonderful team, when we came together to plan, prepare and deliver a whole school liturgy focusing on ‘The Last Supper’. All of the children were extremely prayerful and respectful of the messages they shared. We have also enjoyed watching other classes present their liturgies this week.
Sport Relief 2016
What a fantastic time we had on Friday. We played competitive games between Year 5 and Year 6, focusing on tag rugby. Well done to red team who were the overall winners
