Class 5 and Class 6 (on behalf of the whole school) visited the cenotaph in Shotton today, to lay a wreath. It was our way of respecting the sacrifice the soldiers from our community made for us. We were then extremely lucky to visit the wonderful display in Mr Cochrane’s shop window. We would like to thank Mr Cochrane and his family for spending time with the children and explaining all of the items to us. All of the children especially enjoyed seeing the poppy from the original display at the Tower of London. Thank you to all of the Cochrane family for giving up their time to us this morning.. We were also very honoured to place another wreath in the window display, from all of the children at Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School. Please go and see the wonderful memorial to all of the soldiers who fought in the wars.
Class Liturgy
We gathered together to think about our statement of the week and worked with Mrs Wilson to prepare our liturgy responding to our first topic.
Safety Carousel
Year 6 had a fantastic time at the Safety- Carousel. We had talks from the police, fireman, lifeguards and road safety team. We all enjoyed learning about the many different ways we can keep safe.
Sharing stories with our buddies
Footprints
Today Class 6 have been creating some art work based on the poem footprints. We thought about the key messages of the poem and how God can carry and support us. Fantastic RE work Class 6.
Take a look into our classroom.
We have already done so much fabulous work. We want to welcome you into our classroom and show you how much we have done. We love our bright, colourful learning environment and have high expectations for our classroom, books and work. It just shows how hard
we have worked this half term.
Magic Maths
We had the best time rocking out to some times tables songs today. We are working on learning our times table based on pop songs. Today we worked on our 7 times tables with Dr Jones, Aqua !!
Music in Class 6.
The children in Class 6 had a music lesson today. They had a great time looking at rhythm and working as a team to play a group piece of music.
Super Semi colons!
To improve our writing further, we have been using semi-colons. We work hard to punctuate sentences accurately, joining two independent clauses together. We played games, wrote sentences and completed the computer challenge. This was all linked to our English work.
Negative Numbers
We worked hard in maths to create some negative numbers stories and to complete a carousel of activities.
We are experts at finding the difference between positive and negative numbers.
