We had a great time in Class 5 on World Book Day.
Thank you to all of the parent and grandparent helpers, who gave up their time to help us to get creative!

The whole school had a fantastic Friday afternoon listening to the choir and orchestra from St Bedes. We enjoyed singing along to some of our favourite Christmas songs. Thank- you to all of the children who performed today.
Thank- you so much for all of your kind donations regarding our Christmas shoe box collection. All of the boxes have now been collected and we are sure they will make someone extremely happy this Christmas. We placed our boxes alongside our special tree which has our remembrances of family, friends and loved ones on it.
Class 5 and Class 6 (on behalf of the whole school) visited the cenotaph in Shotton today, to lay a wreath. It was our way of respecting the sacrifice the soldiers from our community made for us. We were then extremely lucky to visit the wonderful display in Mr Cochrane’s shop window. We would like to thank Mr Cochrane and his family for spending time with the children and explaining all of the items to us. All of the children especially enjoyed seeing the poppy from the original display at the Tower of London. Thank you to all of the Cochrane family for giving up their time to us this morning.. We were also very honoured to place another wreath in the window display, from all of the children at Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School. Please go and see the wonderful memorial to all of the soldiers who fought in the wars.
We worked with a partner to try to move fast so that they couldn’t reach our bib!
Well done blue team!
We enjoyed taking part in team building games.
We are really proud of the way our Year 4/5 children have settled into Class 5. We have been working hard, starting our new topic, Running Wild! All of the children have created some wonderful art work, taken part in their PE lessons and have written some brilliant book reviews to promote reading in our class. Well done! Class 5
Class 5 spent the afternoon working with Adam Bushnell. We had a fantastic time looking at our Viking topic and thinking of some brilliant writing and story-telling to explore the topic further. We had so much fun. Thank-you Adam.
