This week, we have been working really hard to use lots of interesting description in our writing. We went outside and used our senses to describe what we could see, hear, smell and feel. This helped us to work together to write a short setting description about Stig’s dump. We hope to write our own by the end of the week!
Cave Paintings!
Class 3 became ‘gathers’ and collected natural resources such as sticks and leaves. We talked about how the people used these resources in the Stone Age and decided we were going to use them to create cave paintings! Everyone thought really hard about the meaning or story behind their cave painting.
The Stone Age Boy
In Class 3, we have reading about the Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura. We worked well as a team to create actions to the story to help us retell it!
Judo!
We were very excited to take part in judo! Miss Brack was so impressed at how well we worked together.
Welcome to Class 3!
Class 3 have had a great first week back at school. We can’t wait to learn more about the Stone Age!
2-D and 3-D Shapes
Class 3 have enjoyed exploring 2-D and 3-D shapes. We used what know about angles and lines to describe them to our partners. We enjoyed working together to create 3-D shapes.
Penpal Letters!
We were so excited to find out that our penpals from Benedict Biscop Academy had replied to our letters! We enjoyed reading them.
Outdoor Maths!
In maths, we have been learning about time. Class 3 completed a number of challenges and timed themselves. They then measured their time in seconds to work out who was the quickest. Class 3 were very determined to beat their personal best!
Informal Letters
We were very excited to find out that we are going to be writing to our pen pals next week. First, we need to identify the features of informal letters. We looked at many different examples!
Drowning Prevention Week
This week is Drowning Prevention Week. All of our children have spent some time during their Sports Week learning about how to stay safe when they are taking part in water sports or playing near to, or around, water.
To share some of the important messages the children have been learning this week, here is a link to the RNLI website. The website provides some important tips about how to keep your child safe around water.
