Today, we had a special writing day at school. We worked hard to create our own pieces of writing based around the story, ย ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen. At Our Lady of Lourdes school we love to write and every class had a go at interpreting the story in their own way.
- Class 1 sequenced the story and created their own art work.
- Class 2 wrote descriptive pieces, improving the descriptive writing in the story.
- Class 3 wrote their own instructions about how to catch a bear.
- Class 4 wrote rhyming poetry hunting for their favourite animal.
- Class 5 wrote a children’s book about a hunt around Shotton.
- Class 6 wrote a version of the story called ‘We’re going on a Zombie Hunt’.
We were very lucky as we had Adam Bushnell in school, inspiring us all with our writing. He is an author and storyteller who helped us to make our writing even more special. Over the last few years, Adam has worked with us before and he will be coming back into school over the next half term. It is a wonderful experience for our children to work with an author. If you want to find out more about Adam, please visit his website www.adambushnell.co.uk
Each class will finish their writing over the week and pictures and examples will be shared on Class Blogs. Please keep checking over the week to see what a wonderful experience we all had.
WE ARE ALL AMAZING AUTHORS!
