Mini-Police Project Y5
Mini-Police
Across the Federation we have been taking part in the Mini-Police project with our Year 5 pupils. This is an innovative project aimed at 9-11 years olds in schools across County Durham and Darlington, with the aim of introducing the pupils ‘Mini Police’ to a positive experience of policing. They learn about the principles of good citizenship, develop an understanding of their local community and learn about the constructive role that they can have as members of the community in which they live.
At Our Lady of Lourdes, the pupils have been focusing their project and work around anti-social behaviour and what to do if they see or witness this. The pupils have responded so positively to this opportunity and have recently presented their work as Mini Police, to the rest of the school- who knows we may have some budding Police Officers of the future!
