World Mental Health Day – Hello Yellow!

28 September 2020 By spidrwebadmin

On Friday 9th October we will be celebrating World Mental Health Day in school. The theme this year is ‘Togetherness’ and ‘You are not alone’ and each class will be completing a range of activities throughout the day.

During the day the children will also be taking part in the school fun run and we would like to ask the children to wear their yellow polo top with tracksuit bottoms to show our support towards ‘Hello Yellow’.

Parent support for keeping children safe online and on gaming devices

27 August 2020 By spidrwebadmin

During Covid-19 our Children and Young People may have been spending more time than usual online or on gaming devices.

It can be hard for parents, grandparents, teachers and carers to keep up with the latest games, apps and social media. To help with this, the NSPCC site http://www.net-aware.org.uk provides important information on the activities your children may be undertaking.

On the main screen there is a search box, simply key in the name of the particular game, App or social media and it will give you a summary of what it is, identify any risks and explain how you can take simple steps to make things safer.

It also includes useful information such as:

  • Age rating
  • An expert view of the risks
  • Top tips for usage
  • Top tips for staying safe

Goodbye and Good Luck, Mrs Wigham

27 July 2020 By spidrwebadmin

We said a fond farewell to one of our longest-serving staff members at the end of this term. Just like our Year 6 leavers, Mrs Wigham was presented with her very own hoodie, as well as many other gifts. She will be a great miss, although she has promised to come back and see us all in September. We wish her the very best for a long and happy retirement.
