On Monday, we had a visit from Katie, from the library. She told the whole school about the library facilities and the Summer Reading Challenge – Space Chase.
Katie also told us about the craft sessions, which take place every Tuesday from 2-4pm in Shotton Library, throughout the summer holidays. Why not pop along and take part, meet new friends and learn new skills.

Key Stage 2 had a visit from Jez and Tom, from Google today. They gave lots of information about how to stay safe online and told the children all about a free online game, Interland, where children can learn about digital safety in an exciting way .

Our Year 5/6 children had an amazing time at Robinwood. They were a real credit to our school and have made memories that will last a lifetime. We are so proud of you (more photos to follow on our class blogs )
This morning we held our first morning Zumba session for KS2. All the children came into the hall first thing for a fun workout. Everyone said it was great! Even the teachers joined in.
Congratulations to our Year 4 children who received their First Holy Communion today. Please keep them in your prayers.

We began our work on Poverty Proofing our school with an assembly to the whole school this morning. Lorna, from the charity, Child Poverty North East, explained what poverty is and how it is on the rise across the UK. We look forward to sharing her ideas to support everyone in our community.
Our Year 6 children have worked so hard this week and have well and truly ‘let their light shine’. We couldn’t be prouder of the effort and determination they have applied during SATs week. They have enjoyed a well earned rest today and have had a brilliant time planning the end of year performance- more information to follow soon.

In school, we have pupils and adults who are affected by this issue. Throughout this week, all classes will be carrying out activities to help raise awareness and challenge perceptions of hearing loss and deafness across the UK.
