Chinese New Year…
This week we have been learning all about Chinese New Year.
We listened to and wrote our own stories about how the Chinese zodiac was created.
We also tried lots of delicious Chinese food and made masks and junk model animals.
It has been great fun.
Snow day…
Book and Biscuit Morning…
A big thank you to the parents, grandparents and younger siblings who braved the snowy weather to attend our Book and Biscuit Morning.
The children had a lovely time sharing stories with you all.
Winter Olympics Training…
Woodwork…
Today we became carpenters and made our own toys in the woodwork area.
We sawed the wood and then carefully hammered in the nails.
When we had finished we painted out toys.
They are amazing!
Snowy weather…
We were so excited to see the first snow fall of the winter.
We tried catching snowflakes, made mini snow animals and even made snowboards!
It was so much fun!
A visit from the PDSA…
Today we were lucky enough to get a visit from a real veterinary nurse from the PDSA.
Tina, the vet, taught us everything we need to know to be the best pet owners.
We had a lovely morning!
Christmas Party Day…
Our trip to Beamish…
We have had such a wonderful time on our school trip to Beamish today.
Everywhere looked very Christmassy and we are all feeling very festive now.
We enjoyed so many lovely activities, including watching pear drops being made in the sweet shop, riding on the old buses and trams and working in the old school.
However, the highlight of our day was visiting Santa Claus in his grotto. We sat around the cosy fireplace and told Santa what we would like for Christmas, before receiving a lovely present to take home with us. We were also lucky enough to feed Santa’s reindeer.
We have had such an exciting and busy day!
