Thank you to our families, for joining us for Family Friday in class. The children had a super time exploring with their grown ups and showing them all of the different learning opportunities that they have in Reception Class. The ducklings and mini-beast hunt seemed to be the most popular activities of the morning and it was lovely to be able to welcome our parents and grown ups into school. Shortly after Family Friday finished the ducklings were collected and taken back to the farm. We are so pleased that you all got to see them and handle them in person.
Our Fabulous Ducklings
The children have thoroughly enjoyed having the experience of seeing 5 baby ducklings hatch from their eggs and growing into beautiful ducklings in front of their eyes. The awe and wonder that this experience created was amazing and the children spent hours observing the changes day by day. In English they have kept a daily diary showing how the ducklings have developed and the changes day by day. The children have been excited to handle and care for the ducklings and have had the pleasure of naming them. The ducklings have now grown so big that they have been collected and returned to the farm where they will be cared for and free to have a good life. The children will certainly miss them but will remember this special experience forever.

Sports Day
We had a fabulous day for Sports Day and were so pleased to see so many family members joining us. the sunny weather helped to make the day extra special and we are so proud of how our children took part and let their light shine. Our picnic lunch afterwards was the perfect way to end a brilliant day!

Jubilee Fun
We had the best time for our Jubilee Fun day. We enjoyed taking part in our Class Jubilee Photo Booth. Afterwards we had a fun morning of games and craft. At lunchtime we enjoyed a ‘street party’ style lunch with all of our school family- it was amazing to be all together! During the afternoon we were so happy to take part in a carousel of fun activities including a disco, circus entertainment and more fun games and craft. At the end of the day we received a special medal as a souvenir of our day and parents and families joined us on the school yard for a celebration of our learning about the Jubilee. Thank you Mrs Ashton for allowing us to have such a memorable day!

Palm Sunday and the Easter Story
In our preparation for Easter the children have acted out the story of Palm Sunday. They made their own Palm Leaves and enthusiastically imagined what it would have been like to be there when Jesus rode his donkey in to Jerusalem. They children have also retold the Easter story and have impressed us with their fabulous writing skills.
