Bush Craft

24 June 2019 By spidrwebadmin

Class 4 had, “The best day ever!” today, completing bush craft activities. We started off by looking at what would be the most important think we would need if we were stranded on a desert island and why? Then we made our own ‘lean to’ mini shelters before moving onto building larger shelters using tarpaulin in the afternoon. We also used some flint and steel to start our own fires. Finally, we toasted yummy marshmallows. We didn’t let the rain spoil our fun and certainly have a few budding Bear Grylls’ among us.

Searching Databases

24 May 2019 By spidrwebadmin

In our Computing lesson today, we searched databases to find information quickly. We had questions to answer, like

  • How many countries are on the continent of Europe?
  • Which minibeasts have no legs?
  • Which country has a population of  8,746,673?
  • How many animals live on plants and flowers and don’t have wings?

The questions got trickier, the more we answered. We also learned about some of the databases which would information about us.

As part of our Science topic of Animals and Their Habitats, we created our own classification keys. We asked questions to group the animals we had been given. It was quite tricky but we got there.

Terrific Thursday

9 May 2019 By spidrwebadmin

What a busy day it’s been in class 4! This morning we learned some sign language and signed along to some well-known songs, including Bobby Bingo and Wheels on the Bus. Mrs Smith was impressed with how quickly we had learned them.

Later, during our PE lesson, we worked very well in teams to complete challenges as part of our Outdoor Adventurous Activities. We had to complete a jigsaw by finding all the pieces from the muddled piles belonging to the other teams.

Amazing Area

3 April 2019 By spidrwebadmin

As part of our work on area, we carried out some practical activities. We used different sized squares to measure the area of parts of the class, found the area of each of the letters in our name and made patterns using different coloured cubes with different areas.
