Class 3 have been learning about the artist Henry Moore in our art lessons. We started to create our own sculptures based on the work of Henry Moore.  We can’t wait to paint them!

We had a great time designing and creating our own Mesolithic shelters. Miss Brack saw some fantastic team work and heard some great ideas. Well done Class 3!

Classes 3 and 4 had a great time learning new and practising some old skipping skills with Gail today. This is the start of our preparations for the festival.

We have enjoyed learning about Stone Age clothing. We thought really hard about our designs and the shapes we would use. 

Class 3 have shown they are fantastic at column addition so they have moved onto subtraction! They having been playing lots of games to help them subtract multiples of 1 and 10 from 3-digit numbers.

We have been reading the book ‘How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth’ in our English lessons this week. To help us learn about prepositions of place, we worked together to decorate biscuits! We needed to instruct our partner to decorate our biscuit using prepositions. What a yummy English lesson!

Year 3 had 2 very special visitors in school. Time travellers Tash and Tamzin visited our school to tell us more about the Stone Age! We played lots of games and even held a r eal woolly mammoth’s tooth!

It is not only important to keep our bodies healthy but also our mind! We talked about the different emotions we may feel, and realised that is was okay to feel like this. We shared our ideas about how we could help someone who is feeling lonely or sad.

We worked together to make sure our friends had a happy and healthy mind. Miss Brack was impressed with our team work as we sorted ourselves into alphabetical order and from smallest to tallest! We also enjoyed a game of bench ball.  Lots of positive things were said by class 3:

“Good try!”

“Good match”

Class 3 enjoyed taking part in their sponsored fun run! Thank you to everyone who sponsored us.

We enjoyed taking part in a live poetry session. We talked about what poetry is and some of us were even grave enough to read some poetry to the class!
