What a great day celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We dressed up, had a street party-themed lunch, learned some circus schools and enjoyed a disco.
We all enjoyed our workshop with Big Science. We took part in some chemistry: mixing chemicals to create a reaction and learned more about forces. By the end of the workshop, everyone said that they ‘loved’ science!
Class 3 held a liturgical prayer to end the Advent/Easter topic.
Today’s outdoor learning involved making bivouacs, a type of shelter. It was great fun working together, while some of us just enjoyed splashing through the puddles on the field.
As part of our World Book Day celebrations, we enjoyed sharing our favourite books, completing fun book-related activities and listened to the story the Egyptian Cinderella. After thinking about some questions to ask and make inferences, we picked out some of the vocabulary used to impact the reader.
We also designed our own T-shirts, based upon our favourite fiction and non-fiction books and the characters in them.
The rain certainly didn’t dampen our spirits during our Outdoor Education session this week. Perseverance was key as we used flint and steel to light fires. Afterwards, we enjoyed toasting marshmallows.
Class 3 loved watching examples of performance poetry and performing the poem ‘Mummy’ as part of their Ancient Egyptians history and english lessons.
