We have been thinking all about Super Shotton Colliery- first we made a large map of Shotton- then redisigned it- adding some extra places the children thought they would like to have… a pancake shop and an Asda!!

We we have loved working out how to make  3D shapes using only sticks and blue tac!

We have been sorting 3D shapes!

We enjoyed learning to tell the time- o’clock and half past!

We have also enjoyed improving our keyboard and mouse skills. We especially liked using the arrow keys to move through the maze.

We have really enjoyed designing and making our Christmas biscuits. We were VERY lucky because our Year 5 friends came to help us. Thank you Year 5 and Well done Year 1!

We went outside to gather some natural materials to make a snail. They look fantastic! We also made snails in maths using the numricon apparatus. Well done Year One- yet another great week!! 

We have all enjoyed reading ‘A Snail and the Whale’ by Julia Donaldson this week. We enjoyed sequencing the story and then retold the story to our friends! 

We have really enjoyed looking at snail shape poems. We then made our own animal shape poems – they look fantastic!!
