We have had a fantastic morning celebrating our good behaviour!
We had so many fun activities to choose from: yoga, arts and crafts, sport, computing and music.
It really is “good to be green!”

We have had lots of fun today learning all about Chinese New Year. We shared the great race story together and created our own monkeys! We had a go at writing in Chinese and created Chinese number lines as well as creating our own dragons to perform a dragon dance.
We had a great time sharing our learning of Jack and the beanstalk with our families today. We showed them how to measure using magic beans and how to write some amazing adjectives to describe the characters in the story. They were very impressed!
We really enjoyed using sweets to decorate our gingerbread boys and girls. We counted how many sweets they had and then added them together. We even used the number cards to begin to write the number sentence.
We had lots of fun as we went on a hunt around the classroom for gingerbread men. Each one had a picture on the tummy. We had to sound out the word for the picture and write it on our record sheets to complete the word search. It was lots of fun.
We were very lucky to have a visit from Bishop Seamus today. He celebrated mass with us and then blessed our new classroom. We asked him lots of fantastic questions and found out lots of interesting facts about the Bishop and the special job that he does. He even let us try on his hat!
Today we talked about the year of mercy and what Pope Francis would like us all to do. We shared the story of the Good Samaritan and thought about the question, ‘who is your neighbour?’
We gathered together for a class liturgy where we talked about forgiveness and how we could show our love for one another. We decided to make a special prayer chain for our class prayer table as we wrote our own prayers for those who have made the wrong choices in their lives.
We have had so much fun in the snow today. We have worked well as a team to do some problem solving to make a snowman, write our letter sounds in the snow and have a snowball competition!
We have had lot’s of fun this week sharing the story of the gingerbread man. We have enjoyed re-telling the stories using prompts and puppets, using play dough to create characters from the story and using the IWB to play gingerbread man maths games.
We have also been busy designing and baking our very own gingerbread men.
They were delicious!
