The rain certainly didn’t dampen our spirits during our Outdoor Education session this week. Perseverance was key as we used flint and steel to light fires. Afterwards, we enjoyed toasting marshmallows.
Performance Poetry
Class 3 loved watching examples of performance poetry and performing the poem ‘Mummy’ as part of their Ancient Egyptians history and english lessons.
Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes
We enjoyed celebrating the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes and created some beautiful artwork to represent the grotto.
Chinese New Year Workshop
Class 2 were very lucky today to take part in a Chinese New Year Workshop with Durham Oriental Museum via Teams. They listened really well to a story, created actions to remember the parts of a Chinese Dragon and looked at different artefacts.
Children’s Mental Health Week
We have been learning about why our mental health is important. The theme this year’s theme is ‘Growing Together’. We listened to the story of the The Hungry Caterpillar and thought about how he grew into a beautiful butterfly. We thought about how we have grown and created these into butterflies. We are going to create a lovely classroom door display with our butterflies and we can’t wait to share that with you.
We also enjoyed listening to ‘Reach for the Stars’ and set ourselves some goals for the rest of the year.
Internet Safety
We had lots of fun learning about how to stay safe online. We worked together to sort out pieces of information and decide whether they were safe to post online or private and should be kept offline. We then had lots of fun creating our own avatar, username and password; making sure we were keeping our identify safe.
Safer Internet Day
Tuesday 8th February is Safer Internet Day. All classes carried out activities related to this year’s theme, ‘All Fun and Games? Exploring respect and relationships online.’ We look forward to sharing some of our learning from the day.

Children’s Mental Health Week
Celebrating the Lunar New Year…
We have had a lovely week learning all about how other cultures celebrate new year.
We tasted Chinese food, made Chinese dragons and lanterns.
RE with Father Peter
We were very happy to welcome Fr Peter into our class to answer some of our questions. Fr Peter is very new to our parish so it was great to chat with him and get to know him a bit better.
