Woodwork…
Today we became carpenters and made our own toys in the woodwork area.
We sawed the wood and then carefully hammered in the nails.
When we had finished we painted out toys.
They are amazing!
Our Trip to the Durham Oriental Museum
We had a great day learning about life and death in Ancient Egypt and we even saw a real life mummy!
Investigating gases
We have been finding the fizziest drink this afternoon. We used 3 kinds of pop, weighed a glass of each one and then stirred them to make them flat. We then weighed them again to see if there was any difference in weight. There wasn’t much difference but Pepsi was the fizziest.
Shoe box Reading Challenge
Here’s a quick look at some of Class 4’s Shoe Boxes.
Snowy weather…
We were so excited to see the first snow fall of the winter.
We tried catching snowflakes, made mini snow animals and even made snowboards!
It was so much fun!
Reading Challenge
Thank you to all children who completed their reading challenge, which was to create a scene from their favourite book. All of the scenes look fantastic and are a great addition to our classroom!
Fun in the Snow!
We were so excited when it started to snow! We enjoyed playing with our friends.
The science of blood
In Class 6, we have been looking at blood. We studied the components of blood and their function. We made models of human blood using Cheerios, marshmallows, food colouring ad orange juice.
3D shapes
We have really enjoyed learning about the properties of 3D shapes this week. We have been On shape hunt, learnt shape songs and we have loved being maths magicians. It was great fun!
