Class 4 had lots of fun playing in the snow today.
Fun in the snow!
We have been learning all about the weather and the four seasons in science. We created a great display of the seasons before exploring the snow after our winter snow storm overnight.
Brilliant Baking
Class 4 had a lovely treat today. We went to St Bede’s Comprehensive School in Peterlee to bake some fork biscuits. Yummmyyyyy!!
In the shadows!
In science, we have been looking at the solar system. We have studied how the Earth moves around the sun, meaning the sun is at different places in the sky during the day. We have been tracking the movement of the sun today by tracing our shadows on the playground.
Reading Challenge Success
Mrs Hoggarth and Mrs Wigham were so impressed with the effort that went into creating artwork based on their favourite book. Well done everyone and well done to parents and grandparents who helped too.
Book in a box!
We have seen some fantastic homework projects in school this week. Well done to you all, it is such a joy to see how much you have enjoyed creating your ‘book in a box’ together. The children have really enjoyed sharing their favourite stories together and they have been very proud to share their work. Well done everyone!
Children in Need
The pupil voice helped to organise a fantastic fundraiser in school for Children in need. Each class came to school in non- uniform and were given a special glow in the dark wristband for raising funds for this fantastic charity. We all had a great day and raised a lot of money for children in need.
Whatever the Weather!
Today we learnt about the climate of a rainforest. We discussed the different climate zones on Earth and what they are like. Rainforests are in the tropics so have a hot climate with a lot of rainfall. We created weather broadcasts for a typical day in a rainforest.
Multiplying 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers!
We have been trying really hard in maths this week to multiply 2-digit numbers by 1 digit numbers. We have used partitioning of numbers to help us! This has been very tricky but we are determined not to give up!
Fantastic a Freeze Frames
In Class 3, we have been reading the story ‘There’s a Pharaoh in Our Bath!’. Today, we worked in small group to create a scene from the story so far. We used these freeze frames to help us think of amazing vocabulary for our recounts as the Pharaoh Sennapod!
