During the week ahead, we will be celebrating World Nursery Rhyme Week in Reception and KS1. Nursery rhymes are important for young children because they help develop an ear for our language. Both rhyme and rhythm help children hear the sounds and syllables in words, which helps them learn to read!
Please help support your child by sharing some rhymes together.
KS2 children will be looking at Fairytales, with a twist.
This week’s winning house team are yellow, with a total of 1037 points.
The children in Class 6 have enjoyed creating their own Pudsey stories to read to their buddies. We have some amazing stories and the buddies enjoyed listening to them. We also created some games to play; we created a Pudsey pairs game and Pudsey spot the difference. Class 6 have worked amazingly well on these activities.
This week the children in Class 6 enjoyed creating an obstacle course in outdoor learning. They used the natural materials they sourced as a team and then attempted their course.
We have been reaching for the stars! We studied what stars are made from, how they can be useful to us and what constellations are. We then recreated the constellations using sweets.
Year 5 have really enjoyed our outdoor learning sessions so far! We’ve taken part in scavenger hunts, used flints to create sparks and even made roasted marshmallows and hot chocolate!
Class 5 have really enjoyed making poppies for our whole school remembrance.
