In preparation for writing our story about an explosion of Mount Vesuvius, Class 4 worked together to complete a carousel of activities to find synonyms, similes, metaphors, amazing adjectives, subordinate clauses and describe the senses. We will use these in our stories.

We have been learning about solids, liquids and gases in Science. Our first investigation was to find out if gas has weight. We weighed three different types of fizzy drinks. Then we stirred them until they were left and weighed them again. The difference between the weight when fizzy and when flat, gave us the weight of the Carbon Dioxide inside the drink.

Wow! What an exciting day! Class 3 enjoyed learning about how the Ancient Egyptians mummified bodies! We acted out the steps and even mummified some of our friends! Our morning was full of team work, fun, laughter and learning!

We have been thinking all about Super Shotton Colliery- first we made a large map of Shotton- then redisigned it- adding some extra places the children thought they would like to have… a pancake shop and an Asda!!

We we have loved working out how to make  3D shapes using only sticks and blue tac!

We have been sorting 3D shapes!

We enjoyed learning to tell the time- o’clock and half past!

We have also enjoyed improving our keyboard and mouse skills. We especially liked using the arrow keys to move through the maze.

Class 3 enjoyed sharing their fact files with Class 2 to teach them all about the Ancient Egyptian Pyramids!
