On Friday 25th September, we celebrated European Day Of Languages by exploring a country in each class. Please see our class blogs to see what we got up to!
We enjoyed learning about how different rocks are formed by using starbursts! We learnt about sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks.
It’s lovely to see the children all settled in and working hard. We’ve had some nice practical work over the last couple of weeks in science, the children worked well making their circuits and testing the conductivity of materials this week. Last week we looked at which materials were best for insulating.
Today we celebrated the European day of languages by learning some Spanish. The children all created their own mini conversations with a partner as well as learned some interesting facts about Spanish culture.
We read a lovely story about pirate school on Thursday which made us all want to become pirates!
We worked as a fantastic team to build a huge pirate ship, eye patches, flags and hats.
We made a treasure island and had so much fun hunting for treasure!

Class 4 were Super Movers this morning as they danced and sang along to the rounding song as part of their mental maths.
Today we took part in a nature study lesson. This involves taking part in observations in our natural environment and making scientific sketches. It was great to go outside for our science lesson and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
We had such an exciting time this afternoon searching the skies for the NHS Spitfire.
We used our hands as binoculars to try and see the Spitfire as it flew over our school.
Everyone cheered and waved as it flew over our heads.
It was really noisy and very exciting!
