27 October 2020 By spidrwebadmin

From today (Monday), parents and carers whose children are eligible for means-tested free school meals will be able to apply for one £15 voucher per child on council’s website at www.durham.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals. After filling in a form, they will then be sent a QR code, which can be redeemed at any PayPoint or Post Office and used to buy food and drink supplies. Residents can find their nearest PayPoint at www.paypoint.com/en-gb/consumers/store-locator or Post Office branch at www.postoffice.co.uk/branch-finder.

Anyone who struggles to access the internet or does not have a device that would support the digital code can call the local authority’s County Durham Together community hub on 03000 260 260. Staff will be on hand from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, to help people with the forms or talk through other options.

Autumn Days…

22 October 2020 By spidrwebadmin

We have really enjoyed learning all about autumn this week.

We have painted autumn trees, made our own autumn pictures, and found out lots of fun facts.

These are some of the amazing things we said happened in autumn:

“The animals get the nuts and hibernate.” – Jake.

“The leaves fall off the trees because they die.” – Erin.

“It gets colder because the earth is moving away from the sun.” – Emily.

“The leaves change colour.” – Alice J.

Today we ended our first half term at school by having lots of fun playing in the fallen leaves.

Awesome Outdoor Learning!

21 October 2020 By spidrwebadmin

What a fun time Year  One had today. First they made a magic potion- using natural material in our outside areas. They enjoyed thinking about what their magic potion would do- we had lots of great ideas like… make someone fly; make someone super fast; super strong and even turn anything into sweets!

After that Lyndsey lit the fire and we toasted marshmallows and made them into s’mores- YUM!!

We are all best friends…

16 October 2020 By spidrwebadmin

This week in our PSHE lessons we have been learning about friendship and talking about what makes a good friend.

“A good friend is kind.”

“They share their toys.”

“They don’t hurt people.”

“Take turns.”

“Play with everyone.”

We listened to the Rainbow Fish story and made friendship bracelets too.
